These thr ... ee designers met in Chennai, in the heart of Tamil Nadu in India and had only one thing in mind: to discover and be inspired by the fascinating art of the Kolam to create the legendary perfumes L'Eau d'Issey and reinvent L'Eau d'Issey pour Homme.

The inspiration of the Twice Studio was of course, the art of the Kolam, with its contrasting richness of colors and shapes. To breathe life into the bottles of this special edition, the designers started all over again and created a typography in the Kolam style. The intertwined letters are evidence of this subtle art. The fresh, bright colors are due to the pigments used for the drawings on the floor. But they are also the colors of India, a country where light turns every color into unique emotions.

What is Kolam?: Kolam is a unique art that has been passed down from mother to daughter, generation after generation, for centuries. A technique that combines artistic expression and mathematical skills with ancient spreading techniques. These geometric patterns, which Indian women draw with rice powder and color pigments, create captivating arabesques that unfold in concentric circles to form mandalas. With its many forms that mix in different ways, the art of Kolam demands endless creativity. Each work combines fascinating works of art with a striking color palette.

L'Eau d'Issey Shades of Kolam: Inspired by an incredible trip to India, perfumer Marie Salamagne unveils a new interpretation of L'Eau d'Issey in a limited edition eau de toilette for women. Floral, sun-kissed and ethereal, L'Eau d'Issey Shades of Kolam captures the delicate, colorful arabesques by Kolam: notes of Indian jasmine intertwine with fleeting rose petals.

This eau de toilette opens with a grapefruit essence and floral freesia notes with a hint of cardamom. An olfactive glow that reflects the sheen of the saris, in the light of the night, the candles in the temples. The main note is the jasmine Sambac, a beguiling Indian jasmine that fills the senses.

To capture the swirling gestures of the Kolam, the jasmine wraps itself in fading rose petals. The secret of this divine lightness? Instead of a distillation, an infusion of the Centifolia rose, an extraction method in which only the airy notes come into play and the feeling of the petal is captured in motion. The seductive notes in the aftertaste capture the almost meditative dimension of the Kolam, which resembles half powder and half milk, the aroma of Basmati rice.

And finally, the cedar fragrance with a hint of amber gives the overall composition an almost mineral-like, ultra-modern note. A mischievous wink from the city dweller!
